The Season's "It" Shade?

Yes, Revlon has dubbed Perplex's dirty grey-purple the season's "It" shade and as much as I hate to admit it and as corny as it sounds, it's kind of true.

First, everyone was in a frenzy over Chanel Paradoxal but for $23 a pop, it's definitely not within everyone's budget. Then, UKers were blessed with a cheaper dupe, Barry M Dusky Mauve. Based on swatches I've seen, it looks like a pretty good affordable dupe of Chanel Paradoxal but sadly, this left out a large chunk of consumers who weren't able to readily get their hands on Barry M products, including those of us in the US. Apparently in the mean time, Revlon heard our plea and was brewing up their own concoction...

Introducing Revlon Perplex...

(Please excuse the messy cuticles :S)

I tried to capture the complexity of the color as best I could but depending on the light and the angle at which it's being viewed, the color can appear charcoal grey to purple. It has a sheen more than it does shimmer, and it was opaque with 2 coats. To see an excellent comparison of Revlon Perplex and Chanel Paradoxal, read up on Pink Sith's post here.
