Shu Uemura Gem Glam Look!

So yesterday I posted a promo pic from Shu Uemura for their Gem Glam summer collection. Today I did my take on the look and instead of just listing the products I used, I thought it would be fun to actually give step-by-step instructions on how I achieved the look as well.

Face:

Laura Mercier Oil-Free Foundation in Golden Beige/Vanilla Beige (mixed)
LORAC Oil-Free Luminizer in Pearl
MUFE HD Microfinish Powder
Revlon Skin Lights Face Illuminator in Warm Light
MAC Beauty Powder in Shell Pearl

Eyes:
MAC pigment in Vanilla
MAC pigment in Aquadisiac
Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner in R.S.V.P
Urban Decay e/s in Alice (Painkiller)
Urban Decay e/s in White Rabbit (Polyester Bride)
Urban Decay e/s in Oraculum (Baked)
Urban Decay e/s in Muchness (X)
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Flipside
Covergirl Lashblast mascara in Blackest Black

Lips:
MAC l/s in Angel
MAC l/s in Ever Hip
Chanel Glossimer l/g in Constellation

Now let's get started!

For the FACE...
Step 1:  I applied my foundation by mixing the two Laura Mercier shades with one pump of the LORAC luminzer, but this time using a tiny bit less of the darker shade and a tiny bit more of the lighter shade.  (The look is not meant to be very tan.)

Step 2:  Then I used another pump of the luminizer and applied it to the tops of my cheekbones and down the ridge of my nose to amplify the dewy effect.  I followed this step with a quick dusting of the MUFE powder, paying attention to avoid the areas where the luminizer had just been applied (That would negate the dewiness!)

For the EYES...
Step 3:  I then applied UD eyeliner in Flipside to the upper and lower lashlines, but only on the outer half of the eye.  I also applied it to the outer half of the lid and smudged it out to a little bit above the crease.  This will act as a beautiful base for our blue shadow.

Step 4:  Apply Benefit cream shadow in R.S.V.P to the lid up to the browbone, but only on the inner half of the eye.  This will act as a base for our gold shadow.

Step 5:  Apply MAC pigment in Aquadisiac over part of the lid where Flipside was applied and blend into the crease and slightly above.

Step 6:  Apply UD e/s in Alice over Aquadisiac, but only on the lid.  Blend slightly but not past the crease.

Step 7:  Apply a mixture of UD e/s in Oraculum and Muchness from the crease to the browbone on the inner half of the eye.  I also extended it in towards the side of my nose.

Step 8:  Apply UD e/s in White Rabbit on the lid of the inner half of the eye, the inner tear duct, and the lower lashline of the inner half of the eye.

Step 9:  Go over areas where White Rabbit was just applied with MAC pigment in Vanilla.  This will amplify the white shadow and add more shimmer.  Also apply Vanilla to the browbone, concentrating mostly on the outer half and avoiding the gold area.

Step 10: Apply Alice to the lower lashline over Flipside and use Aquadisiac to smoke it out a bit.

Step 11:  Apply only a single coat of mascara to the top and lower lashes.

For the CHEEKS...
Step 12:  Apply Revlon face illuminator in Warm Light to the cheeks, starting with the area directly under the pupils and blending out to the hairline.  Go over this same area with MAC beauty powder in Shell Pearl.

Step 13:  Apply Vanilla to the tops of the cheekbones over the area where the LORAC luminizer was applied at the beginning.

For the LIPS...
Step 14:  Apply MAC l/s in Angel all over lips.

Step 15:  Apply MAC l/s in Ever Hip lightly over Angel.  This is just to give a little more color.

Step 16: Finish off your look with Chanel Glossimer l/g in Constellation and you're all done!

*Please excuse the terrible lighting...The sun was starting to set!

I hope you guys enjoyed this look!
