Beauty UK

Beauty UK is a UK based (duh!), family run business that recently sent me two products to try out and review.

I had never heard of Beauty UK before they contacted me and a look on their website put me under the impression that their products are geared towards a younger crowd. The website (and products) have a lot of bright colors, pink, and hearts and I think that the products' prices are a great reflection on the company, as the demographic they're geared towards will actually be able to afford them.

Eye Shadow Palette in #6 Day & Night
Lash-FX Mascara

The palette includes 10 shades that based on the name Day & Night, I imagine are designed to allow you to easily create day and night appropriate looks:

pearly white
shimmery bone
metallic yellow lime
turquoise blue - has a slight sheen, not quite matte
matte Barbie pink - least pigmented of the bunch
matte black
metallic red-brown - gorgeous!
metallic maroon - most pigmented of the bunch
matte purple - a bit chalky
matte red-pink

Overall, the eyeshadows in this palette are soft, can be a bit powdery, and have really good pigmentation with the exception of the purple, light pink, and turquoise shades that are a bit less pigmented and have slightly chalky finishes. The two highlight shades look almost identical when used on the eyes, and the metallic red-brown and metallic maroon shades are my absolute favorite shades of the bunch as they are gorgeous!

I've used the shadows over my UDPP and despite the extremely affordable price tag, the staying power of the eyeshadows is really great. They really do last all day without any fading or creasing on me.

The palette itself is only labelled with the #6 and I actually had to look on their website to discover that it's actually named Day & Night. It retails for £3.99 or around $6 USD.

The Lash-FX mascara claims to give lashes extreme volume, length, and lift. I'm not really sure what lift means in terms of mascara properties, but I assumed it meant that it could lift a curl.

Curled lashes without mascara

With two coats of Lash-FX mascara

While the mascara does add some length, it seems to actually make the curl disappear, which is kind of disappointing for me. I find that it adds moderate volume that is not bad, nor is it necessarily commendable. I think two coats is the maximum you could use with this mascara before it would create spider-like lashes. The best qualities this mascara has are that it doesn't smudge or flake at all throughout the day. Hooray!

This mascara retails for £2.49 or around $3.75 USD.

Overall, based on the products I've tested out, I think Beauty UK has some really great products to offer considering the price tag. Beauty UK is available at Superdrug in the UK and on their website for everyone else with worldwide delivery.
