Blush Trick for "Sun Kissed" Cheeks

It's finally the weekend!! Of course the stormy rain clouds have decided to move in where I live, even though we've been having beautiful weather all week.  Regardless of the weather, this little blush trick will give you that "just back from the beach glow" -  even if you've just been hangin' out at home ;)

This is such an easy way to switch up the look of your blush, so easy that I wasn't going to do this post/video.  I just thought it was a weird little step that I took in my makeup routine. However, it is kind of it's own technique considering there are a few specific steps I take when I want to get this look:

Products shown in the video:

MAC Pink Swoon Blush
Bare Minerals Ready Blush in The Faux Pas
Illamasqua blush in Chase
Urban Decay Afterglow Glide-On Cheek Tint in Crush

Tarte Mineral Bronzer in Hotel Heiress

Sigma F40, F50 and F84 brushes

1. Grab a really bright, cool-toned pink blush. Think neon!  I know it sounds crazy but you'll have to use less of the product to get it to show up and it will really give you that youthful-looking flush, like you've just gotten a little sun.

2.  Apply the color to the top of your cheek bones, not the apples (save that for your bronzer).  You want to think about applying it to the area on your cheek where you would normally apply a highlighting product.  This is where we naturally flush when our blood is really flowing or when we've spent the day on the beach.

3. No sun-kissed look would be complete without a little bronzer! Start applying the color to the hollows of your cheeks like you normally would, then blend the color in towards the apples of your cheeks and up a bit to meet the blush color. We want to make sure that we concentrate on the apples because we didn't apply any blush there.

*Check out the video below for a step-by-step demo on how to get this look and of course, have a great weekend!
